UPVC Soil Waste & Vent Pipes & Fittings
uPVC Soil, Waste, and Vent (SWV) pipes are specifically engineered for the non-pressure removal of wastewater and the ventilation of sewer gases within residential and commercial drainage systems. Manufactured from Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride, these pipes are designed to handle “soil” discharge from toilets and “waste” water from sinks and showers, while the “vent” component ensures atmospheric pressure is maintained to prevent trap seal failure. A key feature of this system is its high chemical resistance, allowing it to withstand the corrosive nature of domestic detergents and acidic sewage without degradation. The pipes are typically joined using solvent cement or rubber ring gaskets, providing a reliable, leak-proof seal that accommodates minor structural movements. Lightweight and featuring a mirror-smooth internal bore that prevents the accumulation of solids “tuberculation”, uPVC SWV systems offer a cost-effective, maintenance-free alternative to traditional cast iron or asbestos pipes, ensuring a hygienic and long-lasting drainage solution for modern infrastructure.

Jointing Method & Fittings
uPVC Soil, Waste, and Vent (SWV) systems, there are two primary jointing methods. Since these are non-pressure systems, the joints are designed to be watertight and airtight to prevent the escape of sewer gases “Solvent Cement Jointing” & “Rubber Ring Jointing”.
